While Toddler Boy was bunking down and cuddling up, Baby Boy was gearing up and moving on. His face is opening like a flower these days, and His Luminosity is becoming so adventurous and independent. It's joy and a bursting chest to watch.
In all the bustle and hand-wringing of these last few days, I've found myself feeling so grateful for breastfeeding, in particular with my Second Born. Even now, at eleven months, it's the glue that bonds us. Without this simple and intimate act, I'm afraid that our relationship might sometimes get pushed aside in the chaos of the everyday or in his growing sense of freedom. Whatever else is going on, the act of breastfeeding draws us together many times a day, to gaze into Each Other's eyes, to talk/gurgle, to feel the warmth and softness of the other's skin. It's such a truly beautiful experience, and unexpectedly so for me.
Thank you Life!
